Chax - Paper Mario Style

This is one out of three different designs I did for a single character concept during my Reel Pro 2 class I did based on a Pacific Rim Kaiju but different art styles/worlds. All three versions can be found on my art tumblr elyssebeeart.tumblr.com and in my art portfolio. One was an illustration design to look more realistic to fit Pacific Rim, the second was to fit in the Pokemon world by replicating Ken Sugimori's artstyle, the third is to fit in Paper Mario: The Thousand Year Door world.

The design was based on a chameleon and axolotl. This version was simplified in comparison to the first/original design. The wing arms are shortened to be useless like how Hooktail is in game but "Chax" here is round and spiked like Bowser.

I used a couple of tutorials here on deviantart to better replicate the Paper Mario look with coloring and shading so I'm posting it.
